Privacy statement

Used Cranes and Materials Holland B.V. (trading as UCM Holland) is the controller for the personal data of webshop visitors, account holders and people who request a quotation or place an order.

From you as a customer or quote requester:

• Name, email address, phone number and company name.
• Delivery and billing addresses, VAT number and Chamber of Commerce details where provided.
• Account login data (email and password hash).
• Order, quotation and payment data, including the goods ordered and chosen shipping method.
• Messages you send with a quote request or via the account.

From visitors of the webshop:

• Technical data needed to serve the site (for example IP address, browser and pages viewed).
• Analytics data only if you have given consent for analytics cookies.

• We use account, order and payment data to perform the agreement: quotations, sales, invoicing, collection, shipping and export documents.
• We use contact details to answer questions and to follow up on quote requests (performance of the agreement or legitimate interest in serving professional buyers).
• A VAT number is checked where required to apply the correct VAT rate (legal obligation).
• We do not use your data for advertising to third parties and we do not sell it.

The webshop uses functional cookies that are needed to keep a cart, session and language or region choice. Those cookies do not require consent.

For usage statistics we use PostHog. Analytics cookies are placed only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can refuse; the webshop then works without that measurement. We also use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, cookieless traffic statistics where that service is enabled.

To deliver the webshop and the sales process we use selected suppliers. They process data only on our instructions:

• Payments: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.
• Transactional email (order confirmations, quotations, password reset): Resend, or our own mail server.
• Analytics (only with consent): PostHog.
• Hosting of the webshop: Vercel.
• Carriers and freight forwarders we instruct for shipment, including TFF where a parcel or pallet shipment is booked.
• Public authorities where we are required to do so, for example customs for export shipments.

We aim to process data in the EEA. Where a supplier processes data outside the EEA, that is done on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or another valid transfer mechanism.

• Account data is kept for as long as the account exists.
• Orders, invoices and export documents are kept for as long as the statutory retention period requires (7 years for tax records).
• Quote requests that do not lead to an order are kept for as long as needed to handle the request, and then deleted or archived with a limited set of data.
• Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics tool and is not used if you have refused consent.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), access on a need-to-know basis, and hashed storage of passwords. No service is 100% secure; if you notice something suspicious, report it to info@ucmholland.com.

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing. Send a request to info@ucmholland.com; we respond within 30 days.

Some data, such as invoices, we must keep for the statutory period even if you ask for erasure of your account.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). We prefer that you first try to resolve it with us.
